Doxie Designs My Lady Kit and Add On Freebie

I have a new kit finished and in the store already! LOL I had a lot of fun with this one, because its some of my favorite colors, has some really pretty lace, and I fell in love with that picture of the lady, and her pretty green dress, so had to try to make a kit to go with her. I hope all of you who buy this one, will enjoy using it, as much as I did making it. I have yet to use it myself, and hope to do something with it soon. The extracting of the lace went better than it has for a while, so I even enjoyed that part of it!! :)

I also made a small add on so I could change the freebie in the store, to something different. So feel free to go to my store, and download it if you like it.

They are both in my store now. I would love to know how you like them if you have a chance to let me know.

Well I think I will be longer between kits this next time, because I don't have another one planned yet, and don't really want to even think about it yet. I've got a bunch of other things I need to do, and with spring coming....at least hopefully it is *giggle*....I will probably be outside more too. So don't expect to much to soon...I will try to work on some qp's for my last two kits, in the next month or two, but that could be as far as I get, for a while. I want to work on the layouts for my niece's book, as well as try to catch up on some of my photo's, and learn if I want pse6....or even trial cs3....and dream of getting it instead! ROFL I think if I decide I just can't live with pse6, I'll have to go back to pspX till I can afford cs3, because pspXI crashes more and more on me, and I don't know that I want 12. But who knows, if I get inspired, I could drop everything and put out another kit sooner than expected, just don't hold your breath! LOL

Thanks for all your comments, both here, and through e-mails!! Leave me some love, if you get the chance, if you like the freebie!!

Doxie Designs Day Dreams Kit

I got my new kit in the store!! I know, its about time I got a new one done. *giggle* I just haven't been feeling at all creative lately, and so it took me awhile. Thankfully I knew when I first thought about opening a blog store, that I wouldn't do all that many, since doing layouts is my main love, so I didn't get to upset with myself! LOL This is a "for fun" thing, that can (God willing) bring in a little extra money, for those unexpected expenses that tend to crop up, and help me learn how to do different things in my programs.

I haven't actually managed to scrap any layouts with this kit, OR do any qp's, so I will try to work on that in the next 2 or 3 weeks. I also already have another kit planned, so maybe if I'm lucky, it won't be quite so long before I get another one done...although you never know, if I get extra busy around here, it could....after all spring IS coming, (we hope) which means I can go outside without freezing!!! LOL

So if you want to see the list of whats in the kit, go here to my store, its in the description.

I just noticed this was my 500th post...just had to post that, cause when I first started bloggin, I didn't think I would ever get that many. Course with as long as I've had this blog, thats not that many, but the first couple years, I didn't blog much at all. LOL

Have a great week and weekend, and Happy Scrappin'!!

New Furniture!!!!

We ordered a new couch and recliner a few weeks ago, and they finally got delivered this morning!!! Bright and early even, we had them by 7:30, which was amazing, course we were their first stop, but still. DH loves his new chair, AND the new couch, first of all cause its not pink, like our last one was (we got it at an auction, so didn't have a choice) and because the new one is more comfortable for taking his nap on. This is our very FIRST new couch and recliner, everything else we have had was used. Course we got them in the clearance part of the store, so they were cheaper, but that's ok, they are still new. Hopefully they will last for many years, so we don't have to replace them to soon. I had been planning on getting DH a new chair for several months, but figured we would make do with the couch for a while longer, but silly me, I found this one, and just had to get it, since we had enough in savings for it, cause it was so comfy, and DH takes naps on the couch quite often, and I like him to be comfy.

So anyway, I had to scrap a quick and simple page, so I could show you all our new furniture. Our Doxie's were enjoying the new comfort too! And the best part about it is, we had it delivered, so they did the carrying, and we didn't have to, we just watched, and then sat down and enjoyed! LOL We naturally had to pay a little extra for the delivery, but we talked them down on the price of the couch and chair enough, to more than cover the delivery cost.

Kit Credit for 1st layout: Stories of Yesteryear by Doxie Designs

The next two layouts are some of the photo's I took, of the shed getting moved the other day. Kit Credit: Autumn Beauty by Designs by Krista

As you can see, I am in that ultra simple phase of layouts again! *giggle* Or something like that, cause I didn't use all that much on any of them. I started the last two yesterday, but didn't get them finished, with doing other things too, so finished them real quick this morning.

We had to take a trip west this week, during the snowstorm we had, that didn't give us as much snow as they were thinking it would, but still enough to make the roads bad. I'm not real fond of driving long distance at 45 miles an hour (less at times)...but its better to do that, then end up in the ditch. Thankfully when we were ready to head home, the roads were clear again!!! I get really nervous traveling in bad weather, so ended up with a stress headache on the trip out. Something I had a lot of, there for a while, although thankfully not for the past few weeks. It's been so nice to not have them, even though I didn't really realize that I hadn't till I got one again (I guess I have been to happy, and busy to think about the fact that I hadn't had one! LOL). I Praise God for getting us home safely!!

I had to go help the neighbor this morning with his printer again. And I've managed to sweep most of the hard floors....and get these layouts done, so now after lunch, I can get some other things done. If I can keep on this roll I'm on, maybe I'll get quite a bit done today, we will see. I love it when I can get several things done each day, and still play on the computer too! :)

I hope everyone has a great weekend, and that the weather doesn't turn really bad for you!! Especially if it would be tornado's like went through several states this week. Take Care and thanks so much for the comments you leave me....or e-mail me!!

New Kit and qp's!!

I finally got my newest kit in my store today!! I put several things in it, that bring back some wonderful memories of other people and another time, including my Uncle Orison, who had a huge impact on my life, and who I still miss even though he has been gone for 14 years later this month. You can get the kit in my store here.

I also did a couple sets of qp's with the kit, one in 8.5X11 and one in 12X12. This next layout is one of them. The photo's are my great-great Grandparents.

Well now I have to come up with a theme for my next kit, that seems to hold me up sometimes, and since I haven't thought of one yet, it could be a little while before I get another kit done! LOL We will see. I hope you all like this one, I kinda like how it turned out, and love that my DH drew me some more elements, that I colored and put in the kit. Hopefully I can get back to doing some more layouts, but as you can see from no blog posts, I've been kinda slow lately! LOL

Have a wonderful week, and thanks so much for your comments!!

Happy New Year!!

I managed to get the new qp's in the store yesterday, but that's about all I've managed to really get done on the computer least scrappin related, hopefully I can get back to scrappin in the next day or two.

This morning I did manage to get the farm books up to date, so they are ready to close out, figured I would do that tomorrow or the next day....there is just so much book work I want to mess with at one time. It used to be that I would look forward to it, when we had our business, and were bringing in a profit, I really enjoyed doing them, course it probably had something to do with seeing how much money we could maybe put into savings. *giggle* Ah well, its not to bad now, just not as fun.

We got a couple more inches of snow last night, kinda surprised us, I guess we hadn't kept up on the weather updates. I think we have had snow on the ground most of the month of Dec, which is unusual, least for the last few years. Its suppose to get cold, as in just above 0 F. tonight, and could feel like its below 0 with the windchill, but if we are lucky it could get into the 40's by the weekend, unless that changes, soooo maybe some of this snow will finally melt!! Course that leaves mud to contend with, but oh well, would be nice to see the ground for a little bit again! LOL Makes it easier on DH walking around outside too, cause the ice on the snow has been bothering his knees, back, and hips, when he breaks through the ice, and it jolts his joints.

Can you believe its the end of 2007? Just a few more hours for us, and it will be 2008!! How quickly the years seem to go now. I want to thank all my readers for their support this past year, and hope you will be back with me for 2008!! I also hope all of you will have a wonderful year next year. Thank you so much for all of your comments, it really brightens my day, when you take the time out of your busy lives to talk to me a little! Thank you SO much!! May God bless you all.

From my family...DH and I and our doxie's Autumn and Rascal, to you and yours....Happy New Year!!

Doxie Designs Freebie

I just thought I would post this a little early, before I head to bed LOL, I have the link up on my google group, and it will only be free there, till I get up Sunday morning....well till I get around to taking it down then anyway! LOL You must be a member of my group, to get this pretty purple one!! Feel free to join!!

Also don't forget the freebies in my store (one of which is picture directly above. They will be there for a while....maybe a long while, so people have something to try of mine, without HAVING to sign up to the google group. (There is also a qp set free in the store!!)

Please leave me a comment if you download them! Thanks!!

BIG NEWS!!

I have decided, after MUCH debate, prayers, and talking with a few friends and family, to open a blog store of my own. It took me a while to finally decide to, there was a lot of going back and forth between I really should, and no way do I want to do THAT, but once I did make the decision to open, I buckled down, stayed up late a lot, and got it done. I feel that it will be a way for God to help provide us with that little bit extra we sometimes need, so really couldn't make any other decision...I guess it just took me a little while to accept that.

I hope all of you fans, won't get to upset, because as you know, I haven't really wanted to sell, (I got over wanting to a long time ago) but with the way things have been around here, the last several months, I really needed to have a way to possibly make a little extra money. I don't think I will be making all that many kits, I will be lucky to do one a month...but every little bit helps. Even if it just brings in enough to cover some of my Scrapbooking expenses, that will help. (The Dover books and commercial use things I use now and then, to make kits with, add up.)

So anyway, over the past several weeks, I've been busy, working on a couple new kits, making some qp's, and new cluster frames. I do have a few of my other kits that had been freebies in the store too, so if you are new to my site, and missed them, you can purchase them in the store!

I have one of my past free cluster frame sets, as a freebie in the store, so they can be tried, before you purchase any, as well as a quick page set, and a mini kit. Friday and Sat. Dec. 14 and 15, there will be a new mini kit freebie on the Freebie page of the google group, so if you haven't joined, you may want to! You can see the freebie in the store, its the Blooming Delight add on kit. It will only be available for a couple days, but if you miss it, you can buy it in the store, after that.

I've been spending way to much time at the computer trying to get all this done, and ready to open, as well as keep making layouts, but its been fun. I have set up a "gallery" blog, just for layouts made by me or any team members, I may end up with in the future, to post to, so you can see layouts made with my kits. The link is at the top of the side bar, as well as the store link. I did change my blinkie's just a tad, to include the Blog Store, so if you want to, you can snag either of them (small one in the side bar, bigger one on the about me page) and use them on your site.

Don't expect the "gallery" or store to fill up to fast, as my main priority in scrapbooking is still layouts, and using the beautiful kits I pick up from other wonderful designers. So if you still like seeing my layouts, using others kits, or reading my long rambles, you won't be disappointed, because that won't change!! I'll still be the same, long winded, off on a tangent person, who loves to ooh and ahhhh over Blushbutters and Lara Paytons kits...along with anyone Else's who I happen to be enjoying using at the time....like Shadow Scraps... that I've always been! *giggle* The only thing that will change, will be the fact that some of the "ads" I have here, will be for MY store, not just the other wonderful designers I love.

So I hope you will stick with me in my new adventure, and let me know how I'm doing from time to time. Because those wonderful comments of yours still make my day!

Ok, so maybe this isn't as big of news as I led you to believe in my last post.....but in a way it is, cause two or three months ago, I would have laughed at anyone who said I would decide to sell my things, yet here I am, with a store. Yeah its "just" a blog store, but still, its a place that people can buy my things, should they decide they want to, so its still a store.

Come visit my store and feel free to let me know what you think!

Lots of layouts

I did these first two last Friday, but didn't get them posted here. LOL Been busy but got a lot done, so that's ok, I guess. The picture on the first one has my Great-Grandmother some of her sisters, their friends and other family. They have ice skates in their hands and are standing on Clitherall lake in Minnesota.

This next one shows my Grandmother and my Uncle Sunny, and Uncle Larry when they were little. I think its cute how Uncle Sunny is going to give his little brother a ride on the sled.

Kit Credit for both of these is: Olde Winter Fun by Doxie Designs

This third layout is the first of a two part layout, showing some of our goats. One picture has some we sold, and the others show the two goats we bought with the money from selling the others. I love this kit, and while it doesn't scream "Goat" the colors in it do work great with the colors on the goats, so I decided I had to use it! LOL

The journaling for this layout is posted at the end of this post.

The 5th and last layout for today, shows one of our cats...my favorite one...feeding her's and another cats kittens. They were born close to the same time, and so when they were older they would just find the closest of the two moms, and start eating, so the Mom's would take turns feeding all of them. It was kinda funny to see.

Well I hope everyone had a good weekend, and will have a good week. Hopefully none of you get any of this ice that seems to be hitting a lot of the Midwest. Suppose to be getting more tonight and tomorrow, so be careful out there!

Kit Credit for last three layouts: A Tuscan Christmas by Teri Hanson/DZines

Journaling for the goat layouts: BTW I didn't take out any spaces that were on the layout or anything, so that's why there could be some strange ones on here.

Living on a farm, with animals, means you have to
get used to the fact, that you will have to say
goodbye to some animals, as you can't keep them
all. This spring we took Holstein and Blackhead
along with one of the spring babies, to the auction.

We want to get rid of most of the milk goats and get
more meat goats, so that means we decided to get
rid of the first two goats we had gotten from Dad.
They were kinda annoying because they would
butt other goats a lot, and made it hard for Galen
to walk, because they were always right there in
front of him, in the way. So he decided it was
time for them to go. We used the money we got
for them, and bought two new ones. We named them
Bossy and Chocolate. Bossy, seems to
have taken over being top goat, like
Holstein used to be, but she doesn't
try to trip Galen up, at least.

We have snow!!

Its white outside! The grass is almost all covered with snow already, and its still snowing. Its really pretty out! I guess the forecasters were right this time! :)

Going from winter to summer in this layout, is a switch! LOL This is one of my iris pictures I took last year. It was the first time it bloomed, and I had to get some pictures cause I really loved the white and purple mixed.

Kit Credit: Blooming Delight by Doxie Designs (Thanks to Lisa, my kit has a name now!! Thanks Lisa!!)

The 2nd layout shows our attic, now that its kinda organized....I didn't get any before pictures, I guess I didn't want to remember the mess it was in! LOL Now at least we know what section of the attic to start looking in, for what ever we go looking for....mostly.

Kit Credit: Dahlia Kit and Cluster frames set 5 by Doxie Designs

Well got some more stuff to get done today, so better get at it, I hope everyone has a great day! Thanks so much for your comments!

Will we actually get bad weather?

These two layouts have some of the photo's from my Wedding Rehearsal. My Brides Maids in the first one, and my Dad walking me down the isle in the filmstrip of the 2nd one...we have big grins on our face, unfortunately I don't remember what was going on, to make us smile that big. The last picture in the filmstrip is my DH and I, and don't ask me what I was doing, but I look kinda funny so I had to include it! LOL

One of these days, I may actually get back to actually working with my wedding photo's more, if I ever get caught up on my current photos! :) Course if that happens, I won't know what to do with myself, and rush out and take a bunch more!! LOL I'm silly like that!!

Kit Credit: Mother's Pansies by Doxie Designs.

This 3rd layout shows my DH, with some of his chickens following him around. Sorry for the lame title, I just thought they were kinda like puppy dogs, cause they like to follow him, hoping for handouts. Sometimes I look out the window and see him walking around outside, and then I notice the following he has, and have to laugh! LOL

Kit Credit: Catch some fun Collab kit from DSS

This last layout is my DH holding my favorite kitty up, so I could get a picture of her and her soot covered fur. We burn our trash, and she likes to crawl down into the burn barrel, before the trash gets burnt, to see if there are any little tid bits that might be good to eat. Silly kitty. LOL

Kit Credit: Delivered by Tina Williams

Well we are suppose to get snow tomorrow....course after last weekend, when we were SUPPOSE to, I have to wonder if we will! LOL I guess time will tell!! Its suppose to start bright and early in the morning, so if I'm Lucky enough to sleep past 6....kinda hard to do lately, maybe when I wake up, it will be pretty outside, with the snow falling! One of these days, the forecasters have to get it right, don't they? *giggle*

As you can see, I've been busy today, I'm really trying to get 365 layouts done for this year, don't ask me why, but I kinda wanted to earlier in the year, and I am close enough, that I could actually manage it, if I push a little. The only problem is I'm also working on another project, that takes a little to much time away from doing layouts, but hopefully it will be ready to share by the end of next week, so then I can get back to doing more layouts, than other things. We will see! LOL I would like to make my 365 layouts, so maybe I won't be silly, and try for it next year, and no, I won't be trying for more, one time of setting a "goal" is enough for me....as long as I actually make it to that goal! LOL

Anyway, that's one reason I've been working so hard at trying to do at least a couple layouts every day...well weekdays, that way I can have the weekends for my other project, along with any time I can squeeze out of my week days. Its actually a good thing, that its been cold, it gives me more time at the computer, without feeling guilty that I'm not outside!

Anyway, its after 11, and I still have e-mails to answer, so I better get this posted! Thanks for your comments, I soooo appreciate them! :)

Daisy

Well we found out our surprise visitors name is Daisy. DH decided to call the Sheriff last night, to find out if they had gotten any calls about a missing dog, and as it turns out (strangely) the lady who took his call used to own her! They had given her to someone who lived out our way, because their neighbors had complained about her going outside and howling. Least that's what I think DH said, as he is the one who talked to her.

We had heard a few weeks ago, that some people who lived a mile or so away from us, had moved, and left their dogs to fend for themselves, we had seen one of them over here, but it wouldn't come close to us. The thought had crossed our minds, that Daisy could be another of their dogs, but we didn't know if she was or not. I don't understand people who would do that, I would have to find a home for them or something, not leave them to starve, although she can't have been having no food for THAT long, cause while she may be thinner, than she usually is, she isn't skin and bones!

So I guess the lady who used to own her, and/or her boyfriend, will be coming out tonight to pick her up. Not sure if they plan on keeping her, or what, I do know I'm glad they are, cause as lovable as she is, I would like to sleep at night, last night I didn't get to bed till midnight, cause I was working on some things, and then at 4 Autumn (who doesn't like her) barked, cause she heard her walking around the dinning room. So after trying to get more sleep, but constantly being woke up by a bark, I gave up, and got up and did these two layouts of Daisy! LOL

Kit Credit: Stories of Yesteryear by Doxie Designs - I just HAD to use my kit, with the daisy in it, once I found out that was her name!! LOL

Daisy doesn't like being left alone. Poor thing cries even when I'm around her some, cause she isn't used to it here, but she is really bad when she is alone. Its probably cause she doesn't know the place, and because she was abandoned, and doesn't want to be again. I can't get her to go outside for any length of time, unless I go with her, again probably because she doesn't want left. Makes me feel so sorry for her, and hope that if her former owners can't keep her, they can at least find a good home for her. The poor thing has had a hard last several months I would say, and she doesn't seem to be really to old, although how old, I have no idea. I doubt much over a year or two, if that, but I'm not good at figuring that out.

We didn't let her sleep in our bedroom last night, because Autumn doesn't like her, and keeps snapping and snarling at her. So figured it wouldn't be a good idea for them to have to be in the same room, especially since we aren't keeping her! LOL However that of course made her be alone, which she doesn't like, so I felt kinda mean. She is just a sweet lovable hound, although slightly annoying with her crying, even though I understand it, cause she doesn't know us, or the place. She has taken over the dog bed in my office, which is fine, cause ours don't use it lots, especially in the winter, cause DH's office is warmer. Its not really her size, but she uses it anyway! LOL

Well I better get this posted, and get some other things done!! I hope you all have a great week, and hope I can managed several more layouts this week!! LOL Thanks so much for all of your comments, both here and through e-mails!!

Been Busy Scrappin

I managed to get started on this double layout last night, and finished it this morning, along with the 3rd layout below. Once I get these posted, I have to get busy around the house though, got several things I need to do today! LOL But I was on a roll, so hated to stop, till I got these done!!

The first two layouts are photo's of making rope that I took when we went to Brownville the weekend after our Anniversary. I remember making rope with my Grandpa once, and thought it was interesting, and had fun watching it being done again. In the 2nd layout, when the guy was burning off the "hairs" left sticking out, I almost missed getting a picture of it, cause I was so into watching! LOL I knew he knew what he was doing, but I was kinda amazed he didn't burn the rope up, when he burned off the hairs! LOL Isn't his outfit really cool though, I loved it! Reminded me a little of my Dad, when he would dress up, for his craft shows, although he didn't carry a gun like this guy had...if you can see it peeking out from under his arm, behind the frame. Journing is below! Edited: I forgot to say that I got a little long winded on my journaling so put the tabs under the frame, and wrote on them...got that idea from some of Blushbutters layouts, which you can see on her blog!

Kit Credits for the first two layouts: Victorian Wedding Kit, Baby Boy Heartstrings kit, Baby Girl Heartstrings kit,Digital Silver Heritage Frames, and Various freebies All by Blushbutter. The straight rope on the 1st layout is from By the Shore by Lara Payton.

The last layout, is a country landscape I had to get a photo of, that we saw on our drive in the country, on our Anniversary. I do love neat farmsteads! Kit Credit for that layout is...ummm no name for the kit yet, but its one I'm working on myself! LOL (I really am not good at coming up with names of kits! LOL)

Well I better get off here and get some things done, I will post to my other galleries sometime later today! LOL Gotta start some lunch right now, I promised my DH some pizza burgers, I made the pizza sauce yesterday, so it shouldn't take to long, hopefully!

Have a great day!!

Journaling for the 2nd layout:

While wondering around Brownville
Ne, at their Autumn fest, we saw
these men set up to give some rope
making demonstrations. Galen started
talking to them, and they roped...
*giggle*...him into helping them.

He had to walk the length of the rope
making sure all the little hairs didn't
start getting twisted up into the strand
next to them...that is until they wanted
them to, of course. At the end, when
they were putting all the strands together,
I had to do Galen's job, so he could take
the piece of wood holding the strands
apart, and slide it down to the other end,
to join the strands.

In the photo to the right, the guy
is singeing all the "hairs" that were left
sticking out of the finished rope. He
then taught Galen some neat knots.
It was interesting!!
