Daisy went home

I finally got a couple brag book pages done for the exchange this month at Blush ~n~ Dusty Yahoo group. I love teddy bears, so thought I would use this one, and came up with this.

Kit Credit: Baby Girl Heartstrings kit, Baby boy Heartstrings kit, and Digital Silver Heritage frames ALL by Blushbutter. There is still time to join us in this exchange, it goes through the 15th of Dec!! Also don't forget the layout challenge, it goes till the end of Dec!!

Last night Daisy's old family came to pick her up. She was so happy to see them, I opened the front door, she went out and jumped on them and said Hi, then went running around outside a little while we talked with them for a little bit. She was like a different dog, all happy and everything. I'm sure she would get that way eventually with anyone, given time, but it would take time and it was good to see her happy now!

We had to go do our shopping today, I was going to wait till later in the week, but the weather was suppose to be worse later in the week, so we decided to do it today. Spent way to much money...as usual...although it was worse this month for some reason. Not celebrating Christmas, we shouldn't have so much trouble in December, with having to buy extra things, but there were several things we had to get, that wasn't "usual" some we had been putting off.

Plus we got a toaster oven, cause they were cheap, (hopefully we don't regret getting the "cheap" one) so we didn't have to heat the oven just to heat up some small things, that taste better in the oven, than the microwave. We have talked about getting one for years....but never have. Can you believe, we have been married for 16 years, and this is our first toaster oven? We've had toasters, just not toaster ovens. Strange....it wasn't something Mom ever had, so I guess it wasn't high on my list of things to buy, although I always wanted to try one. This way I can make some more pizza burgers and freeze them, and just heat up a couple of them without heating up the oven. That is if I can get everyone to not pig out on them, like we did last time I made them! LOL There wasn't anything to freeze, darn it!!

Anyway, needless to say, having to shop, stopped me from getting some things done today, that I was hoping to do. Oh well, just means I don't have to worry about having to do it again, till next month!! Well except for maybe a little bit in a couple weeks, but that's just in town here. Hopefully I can get back at it tomorrow! Would be nice to get a couple layouts done, plus finish putting things away here. better get off here now though. Take Care, and thanks so much for your comments!!

Daisy

Well we found out our surprise visitors name is Daisy. DH decided to call the Sheriff last night, to find out if they had gotten any calls about a missing dog, and as it turns out (strangely) the lady who took his call used to own her! They had given her to someone who lived out our way, because their neighbors had complained about her going outside and howling. Least that's what I think DH said, as he is the one who talked to her.

We had heard a few weeks ago, that some people who lived a mile or so away from us, had moved, and left their dogs to fend for themselves, we had seen one of them over here, but it wouldn't come close to us. The thought had crossed our minds, that Daisy could be another of their dogs, but we didn't know if she was or not. I don't understand people who would do that, I would have to find a home for them or something, not leave them to starve, although she can't have been having no food for THAT long, cause while she may be thinner, than she usually is, she isn't skin and bones!

So I guess the lady who used to own her, and/or her boyfriend, will be coming out tonight to pick her up. Not sure if they plan on keeping her, or what, I do know I'm glad they are, cause as lovable as she is, I would like to sleep at night, last night I didn't get to bed till midnight, cause I was working on some things, and then at 4 Autumn (who doesn't like her) barked, cause she heard her walking around the dinning room. So after trying to get more sleep, but constantly being woke up by a bark, I gave up, and got up and did these two layouts of Daisy! LOL

Kit Credit: Stories of Yesteryear by Doxie Designs - I just HAD to use my kit, with the daisy in it, once I found out that was her name!! LOL

Daisy doesn't like being left alone. Poor thing cries even when I'm around her some, cause she isn't used to it here, but she is really bad when she is alone. Its probably cause she doesn't know the place, and because she was abandoned, and doesn't want to be again. I can't get her to go outside for any length of time, unless I go with her, again probably because she doesn't want left. Makes me feel so sorry for her, and hope that if her former owners can't keep her, they can at least find a good home for her. The poor thing has had a hard last several months I would say, and she doesn't seem to be really to old, although how old, I have no idea. I doubt much over a year or two, if that, but I'm not good at figuring that out.

We didn't let her sleep in our bedroom last night, because Autumn doesn't like her, and keeps snapping and snarling at her. So figured it wouldn't be a good idea for them to have to be in the same room, especially since we aren't keeping her! LOL However that of course made her be alone, which she doesn't like, so I felt kinda mean. She is just a sweet lovable hound, although slightly annoying with her crying, even though I understand it, cause she doesn't know us, or the place. She has taken over the dog bed in my office, which is fine, cause ours don't use it lots, especially in the winter, cause DH's office is warmer. Its not really her size, but she uses it anyway! LOL

Well I better get this posted, and get some other things done!! I hope you all have a great week, and hope I can managed several more layouts this week!! LOL Thanks so much for all of your comments, both here and through e-mails!!

Does anyone need a dog?

I thought I heard something outside of our big window in the living room earlier this evening, but just figured it was a cat, because sometimes our cats are out on the front porch. But later I was sitting here in my office, working on my computer, and I heard something outside my office window, plus I swore I heard a dog wining, but it was so low, I thought I maybe was hearing things, especially since I could hear SIL's tv, and DH's tv. I finally became convinced I wasn't just hearing things, so went and told DH I thought I heard something outside, and it sounded like a dog, so he gets a flashlight, and goes to the front door, opens it, and there she was, wanting in.

She seems like a real sweet dog, but we DON'T need any more dogs! LOL We have two, and DH's Sister has two, and that means we already have to many dogs in this house. The first thing she did was find the Dog food, and chow down, although it doesn't look like she has been starving for to long, cause she isn't to skinny. She does seem use to being inside, and was probably thankful to find a house, with it cold outside. Not sure what we are going to do with her, will probably call the vet in the morning, and see if they know of anywhere we can take her. If they don't, we may have to put an ad in the paper and see if anyone lost her, or just wants her. She does have a collar on, but it didn't have any tags. She is kinda cute, and I love her big huge ears....but she is a little bigger dog than we want (she would make about three of our doxie's), and truly, we have way to many in this house now....but if we wanted another dog, and didn't mind one being that big, she would be a good choice I think, cause she seems to be an inside dog. And she is kinda cute, with her big ol sad eyes. (Course not to sure how safe our Chickens would be from her! LOL)

I think the winter storm they were forcasting for here, was wishful thinking. We had a little bit of ice when we woke up yesterday morning, but it quickly left. No snow today either. The photo I used in this layout was taken in 2006. We actually had some snow then, although not much. I was just playing around yesterday making a few things for a kit, and ended up making this quick layout, cause I wanted to see what it would look like if I did a black background to match the silouette, so it looked like it was part of it, and had to put the snowflakes in there since it was a snowy picture. Kinda like how it looks like kids playing in the snow in the picture.

Well the visiting hound dog, is still laying here beside me, like she was in the picture above, only her eyes are closed and she is sleeping. I just have to keep telling myself...."your not going to get attached, you're not going to get attached.....*giggle* I don't think I will get THAT attached, I just think she is kinda cute, and sad looking, course that kind of dog always is sad looking I think! LOL

Well I better get going, just thought I would post about our visitor! LOL I hope everyone has had a good weekend!!

I love Lilacs!!

I really love lilacs, they smell so good, and are really pretty! So when I saw this kit of Shawns I had to have it!! Thankfully I am on her Design team huh!! LOL Because there are to many of her kits that I like!! Course I suppose there are tons of kits I would love to have out there, and I manage to control myself, but at least with being on a few design teams, I can get kits to use, and not go broke scrappin! So Thank you to you ladies who have let me be on your teams!! You are a true blessing!!

These layouts are me when I was much younger! The pictures were all taken at my Grandparents house by my Uncle.

It's Imposible....

I know most things are NOT impossible....but I do think that its impossible to keep a straight face in the presence of a puppy!! LOL I do adore puppies!! This is my brother and I when we were young, with our first rat terrier puppy. She turned out to be "my" dog so I think she was the first dog that was "MINE". I remember the day Mom brought her home, she was so tiny, but she attacked the kitchen rug, and groweled and barked at it, and shook it as much as her tiny little body could. It was so cute!!

When she was older, I informed my Dad, and my brother that she was mine...cause she liked me best, and I don't think they believed me. So we all got on the ground in a circle and put her in the middle of us, and all called her, and she looked at all of us, and came to me!!! I was so happy (after all I didn't know for SURE that she would) and from then on, she was FOR SURE mine!!

An idiot and his dog

I Love dogs, (usually) I do have to admit I prefer my own, but I love meeting other ones, and hearing stories about them. BUT I have met a few dogs I can't stand, mostly because their owners refuse to train them!! Pete, my DH's friend (from highschool) owns one of them. Pete has actually trained him to jump a fence, probably because he is to lazy to go open the gate, so he encouraged him to jump over it, which makes it so he can get out and go all over, if he is ever in a fence. That was the first thing that ticked me off about Buster (the dog).

Now that we live here on our farm, and have animals, he shows up from time to time with his dog, and even before a couple of incidents, I wanted him to WATCH his dog really close but knew he wouldn't. Shortly after we got our first chickens, Pete came over (with buster of course) and buster killed a chicken. It was a momma chicken who was raising a bunch of chicks. So naturally I was REALLY mad and when I was outside when he showed up I would make him keep buster in his car, which would make him mad and he would leave. I found that a great way to get rid of him!! Now I have really tried to be nice to this guy because he is my husbands friend, and I don't want to be the reason he looses a friend. Even though the last several times he has come here, he has done somthing to really tick me off (the last time he drove over my baby lilac bushes because he wanted to get closer to us, so he didn't have to walk a few extra feet by staying on the drive way) I haven't told him he wasn't welcome here, or anything because he was DH's friend. I have tried my best to be nice. While I am sure I haven't managed to be totally welcoming like I should be, I have done my best, and not told him off, or ran him off forever.....yet!

Well last night he came by to give DH something. I guess he didn't even get out of the car, I didn't even look outside, I avoided him becasue I didn't really want to get mad at anything. Don't know why I bothered, DH came in when he left and said that buster jumped out of the open window just as Pete was starting the car to leave and caught one of our cats and started shaking it hard to kill it. DH, being disabled and unable to move fast got to the dog as quickly as he could and took the metal pole he had in his hand he has been using as a walking stick when he is out around the farm, and beaned buster over the head with it to try to get him to let go of the cat and stop shaking it. Buster droped the cat and ran and jumped back in the car. Pete had the audacity to say "Buster knows how to take care of a cat" before he became a total coward and jumped back into his car and high tailed it down the driveway.

We found the cat on top of the moter under the hood of the car. She had managed to crawl up there to get as far away as she could from the dog. She died last night several hours later. A long, slow, lingering death. We brought her inside and put her in a pet taxi with some towels and food and water, but she hardly moved from where we put her. We didn't think she would make it, with the sound of her breathing but we didn't want to leave her outside where something else could get her, just in case. As upsetting as it is, that she died, and that it was a slow death, I am the most upset at Petes parting words. Just because he doesn't like cats, (or chickens) doesn't give him the right to allow his dog to kill our animals!!! While I am sure he didn't sic his dog onto our animals, he refuses to accept responsiblity of his dogs actions. Its the chickens fault, or the cats fault, not Busters. And he gloats about the fact that buster killed the cat.....well at the time he didn't know it was dead, but still......to say "Buster knows how to take care of cats" isn't the smartest thing to say. To my way of thinking we don't need friends like that, but thats a decision DH has to make. DH did send him an e-mail last night after we found the cat had died. Its in red below. I was really proud (and kinda surprised) of him for sending it, because I didn't figure he would actually ban Buster, just figured he would say he can't get out of the car if he comes over. We will see if Pete ever shows up out here again. I am sure he will be really mad, and prob spread something around town, but I don't care. If I don't have to see him again, I will be happy!!

Just to let you know –

The cat died about 10 minutes ago. It took her 4+ hours, but she finally went. Kind of a slow, lingering death. DO NOT bring Buster out here any more, even if he stays in the car. This is the second animal he has killed here. Do not try to justify this by blaming the cat. Buster was the one who jumped out of the car and chased her. Just because you (or him) do not like the animals we have, does not matter. They are OUR animals – respect them.

Gee we got a reply from the idiot!! Didn't expect that, wonder if this will actually be the last we hear from him!!!!!!!!!!!! ***jumping for joy just at the thought!!*** The reply is below. And just to clarify something DH says he only killed one cat when he was in highschool and it was because it kept getting into his garage and tearing things up. The main point is he was in highschool.....many years ago, when most people ARE young and stupid.....you would think that Pete would have had plenty of time to grow up and get smart by now!! After all they are over 40 now!! I guess Pete forgot about his dog killing our chicken too. Oh and Cats jump on cars, thats what they do. That doesn't mean its alright for the dog to kill them! There is no way to make cats NOT jump on cars, as far as I know!!

Message from Pete below.

"Don’t worry!!! This will be our last communication with the both of you. You were asked 3 times to not let them jump on the car and the fact it died is probably all the damn cats you ran over in high school!!! Besides that it is the only animal he killed where do you get off blaming him for more kills then he is accredited with he has killed one animal on your farm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
